Industry Advisory Council

Industry Advisory Council

Industry Advisory Council (IAC) serves as an advisory body to the Governing Board and CSTI by providing input on the strategic directions and activities of the network. The IAC also works to increase the link between INCF members working in industry and academia, and promotes INCF within the business sector with interests in neuroinformatics.

The mission of the IAC is to improve scientific integrity and productivity through collaboration between academia and industry — in line with current priorities, regulations, and technological trends and a special focus on the individual researcher.

The council has identified focus areas around which it will convene working groups and organize seminars. The current focus areas are:

  • Guidelines for academic-industry partnerships. Engage academic IT/Research Computing teams. Focus on infrastructure and tech adoption.
  • Career transitions between academia and industry. Team Science. Education/skills. Entrepreneurship.
  • Intellectual property and licensing opportunities on the boundary of academia and industry.
  • Publishing: journals, peer-review, credit assignment, preprints.
