Job Description

Software Engineers and Scientific Programmers

The Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland is seeking to extend its team for a multi-national research endeavor to reverse engineer, model, and simulate the brain.

 

For strengthening our software engineering team we are looking for several exceptional software engineers and scientific programmers with the following foundation:

 

·         Master degree in software engineering or similar

·         Successful development track record for large collaborative software projects

·         Intimate familiarity with design patterns and state-of-the-art libraries

·         Very good familiarity in software development life-cycle, such as versioning, debugging, workflows, testing, QA

·         Good team players and fluent English in speech and writing

 

and expertise in one or more of the following areas

·         Massively-parallel programming on tightly-coupled distributed memory compute architectures (strong expertise in C++ and Python and rich experience in MPI, OpenMP, OpenCL, pthreads, parallel debugging, performance analysis, sockets); reference: BBP-SI-ENG

 

·         Computer graphics programming for interactive, complex scenes visualization using rasterization and raytracing on clusters of CPUs/GPUs (strong expertise in C++ and Python and rich experience in OpenGL, OpenSceneGraph, VTK, volume rendering, parallel compositing, remote visualization); reference: BBP-VI-ENG

 

·         Neuroinformatics workflow and database programming (strong expertise in C++, Python, Ruby in Rails, Django, bash scripting and rich experience in data acquisition systems such as IGOR, XML, MySQL use and schema design, RDF, GRID technologies such as IRODS, workflow systems); reference: BBP-NI-ENG

 

·         Web programming (strong expertise in C#, java script, HTML/CSS, HTML5, Ruby on Rails, and rich experience in web services, cloud integration, client-server architectures, .NET, MS Sharepoint); reference: BBP-IN-ENG

 

·         Data analysis programming (strong expertise in C++, Python and rich experience in scipy, numpy, matplotlib, R, Matlab, data analysis packages, data visualization packages, MayaVi, provenance tracking); reference: BBP-AN-ENG
