The INCF National Node of Japan (J-Node) is located at The Neuroinformatics Japan Center (NIJC), Riken Brain Science Institute (BSI). The node was inaugurated in February 2006. The node steering group has a national  representation. The Director of the J-Node is Prof. Shiro Usui.

The distributed node platform committees are continuing their development under a portal umbrella.
