Germany

A German national neuroinformatics platform, first established in 2004, serves as the INCF National Node of Germany. It is located at the Humboldt University Berlin. The Chair and coordinator of node operations is Professor Andreas Herz.

The German Neuroinformatics Node (G-Node) focuses on neurophysiological data and aims at addressing issues such as data access, data storage, and data analysis, as part of the INCF. Based on its technical and scientific scope, the G-Node could play a substantial role for cellular and systems neurophysiology as well as for the neuroscience community at large. The node activities include the development of a novel software and hardware infrastructure, to ease the acquisition, storage and analysis of experimental data.
