INCF Program on Ontologies of Neural Structures

Controlled vocabularies are required for the re-use and sharing of data. In close association with the INCF Programs on Digital Brain Atlasing and Standards for Datasharing, Program on Ontologies of Neural Structures (PONS) works to establish a structured lexicon of terms describing neural structures and their relationships at multiple levels of granularity.

The program has three associated services:

The next step is a Community-Based Neuroscience Encyclopedia, a project with
the goal to build an open encyclopedia which will link to existing ontologies.
