Neuroinformatics deals with development and application of advanced tools and approaches essential for major advancement in understanding the structure and function of the brain. The field covers three primary areas, database, tools and modeling. Neuroinformatics Japan Center (NIJC), RIKEN Brain Science Institute was established in 2005 to promote development of Neuroinformatics as the Japan Node of International Neuroinformatics Coordinating Facility (INCF). By inviting INCF, NIJC and related fields, this symposium aims to provide idea exchange and stimulating discussion on current advances and also future perspectives in neuroinformatics.
