INCF was formed August 1st 2005. Professor Sten Grillner is elected Chairman of the Governing board, and Professor Shun-ichi Amari, Japan and Dr. Bret Peterson, USA, are elected Vice chairs
An international committee convened by the Secretary General of GSF, evaluates the bids for secretariat host, and recommends Stockholm
November 28th 2005, formal inauguration of INCF at OECD in Paris. It was decided that the Secretariat of INCF will be located at Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm
January 2006, position as Executive Director of the INCF Secretariat announced in Science and Nature
April 22nd 2006, Professor Jan Bjaalie, Oslo University, is appointed Executive Director – starting part time in May 2006, and full time September 2006
December 2006 - January 2007, recruiting of Scientific Officer and Program Manager
February 2007, positions for Scientific Information and Public Relations Liaison, portal development team, and IT support, announced
February 2007, inauguration of specially designed new space for the INCF Secretariat at Karolinska Institutet
More positions at the Secretariat to be announced in the spring of 2007
The School of Computer science at the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm provides important informatics infrastructure for INCF and contributes with research positions
Each member nation is setting up a National node to further the development of neuroinformatics
